ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
The world's most widely adopted management standard — a framework for consistently delivering products and services that meet customer, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Everything you need to know about ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). Based on seven quality management principles — customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making, and relationship management — it provides a framework for consistently delivering quality outcomes. The 2015 revision introduced a strengthened emphasis on strategic context, leadership accountability, and risk-based thinking.
ISO 9001:2015 is applicable to any organisation regardless of size, sector, or geography — from a single-person consultancy to a multinational manufacturer. The standard is sector-neutral: its requirements define what must be achieved, not how, allowing organisations to implement a QMS proportionate to their context. It is equally applicable to product manufacturers, service providers, public bodies, and NGOs.
The certification process with Assurance International has four stages: Application & Scoping — we agree the scope and issue a detailed quotation; Stage 1 Audit — documentation review and readiness assessment; Stage 2 Audit — on-site implementation audit assessing effectiveness against all requirements; and Certification Decision — independent decision and certificate issuance upon successful outcome. ISO 9001:2015 certificates issued by Assurance International are valid for three years from the certification decision date. Annual surveillance audits in years two and three confirm continued conformance and maintain certificate validity. A full recertification audit at the end of the three-year cycle renews the certificate for a further three-year period.
